Sorry, I can't embed this video (you tube won't let me) but if you do one thing today, go watch this guy's common sense. Seriously! Go watch it now!

This (and my husband's amazing blog!!!) has got me thinking. Was anyone really happier before the recession - with more money? I mean I know times are tough for people with unemployment, cut-backs, etc, etc, etc, but . . . .
Haven't we all learned by now that more money, more things, more consuming, more excess . . .
does NOT make us happy (happier)?
Just something I'm pondering today.

Oh my gosh, we are such spoiled bratts! I'm going to make sure my kids watch this.
Thanks Jaime for the reality check and a good morning chuckle :0)

It's true. Our standard of living is higher than it has every been. I agree that we should consume less and would be better for it. Unfortunately, the health and stability of our economy is contingent upon excessive consumption, which as we have recently learned is NOT sustainable. duh. So, our economy (and the banking industry) must be fundamentally restructured, which in the short run will cause hardships to many people in the industries most affected. Aiding those people as they make the transition to new, emerging (hopefully more sustainable)industries is one thing, but I don't think throwing money at the problem and preserving a broken system is the answer.
I couldn't watch the video because I'm at work, but I get your general drift...
I never could understand why we were all instructed to "go out and spend" after 911. Why not save money for times like these?
Oh and I tried to post a comment on Andrew's blog, but the comment settings wouldn't allow me to. It wouldn't pull up a word for me to verify, no matter which name I tried to post under. It could be something on my computer, but I can post on everyone else's blog.
