Quote . . .

I read this quote today:

You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."

~Charles Spurgeon

and I needed to hear that after our morning (which has only been going for two hours). Abigail seems to be needing more attention than ever these days. I also thought my house would be much cleaner after I was a stay-at-home mom. I am so blessed that I have a husband who doesn't care . . . and who thinks I'm doing a great job!

Jaime, that quote is so true. So many people think that their everyday tasks do not allow them enough time for God, but really, in doing our everyday tasks for the sake of God, we are brought much closer to Him and we are doing His work here on earth. You are doing a great job-- don't beat yourself up!

GREAT quote! Thanks for sharing it. A great blog I just found that is very encouraging in that aspect--www.womenlivingwell-courtney.blogspot.com
And the book "In Praise of Stay At Home Moms" by Dr. Laura is great as well--good encouragement.

You are doing a great job, Jaime. Being a mother of young children is often thankless because everything you are doing has to be repeated over and over. The kids are too young to appreciate it, but they will one day.
